Hero mastery protection tier art of conquest
In this guide we will cover hero placements for tier 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 of the Protective sections of hero mastery.
So, let’s get into it.
3. Protective (GREEN)
Protective is tailored to Melee/tank/defensive related heroes like gladiators and paladins.
1. Protective II
Defense Enhancement: Max Health and Evasion +17.5 % in battle.
Heroes: Virion, Baelrog, Bane, Solaris
This is suitable to heroes that absorb damage well and move or are placed on the frontline.
Stacking: this stacks with similar effects from artifacts, prism arrays and gear.
B. Protective IV
Final Protection: When the selected hero has less than 40% health for the first time. Any damage received will be decreased by 50% (lasts 20 seconds).
Heroes: Baelrog, Bane
This is most suitable to heroes that get Tankier (more defensive) later in the battle.
Notes:
- Heroes like Baelrog and Bane have passive skills that make them tougher to kill as more time goes by in battle so it is important to prevent them from dying too early before they can reach their maximum potential.
- Heroes that have in-built invulnerability like Solaris with hells pardon skill that lasts 15 seconds and Virion with light’s safeguard that lasts for 26 seconds or melee heroes wearing artifacts like Solantris aren’t suited for this because the passive skills prevent them from dying early when they get low on health so the 20 seconds in which this effect lasts will be wasted.
Notable mentions: Denji
This can be useful on Denji to give him more survivability if you plan to use his active Dumpling skill later in the battle.
C. Protective VI
Heart of Ice: every 10 seconds the hero shoots out an icy mist that increases their evasion by 30% and reduces the attack speed of all surrounding enemies by 50% (lasts 5 seconds).
Heroes: Bazric, Kitano
This is suited for heroes that are melee and have skills that naturally increase evasion.
Notes:
- The icy mist doesn’t have a very large radius but can be useful especially against enemy heroes to slow them down such as hero power sides.
Stacking: this stacks with similar effects such as hero skills, artifacts, prisms and gear.
D. Protective VIII
Giant’s Power: Stamina +20: Damage received from enemy hero -35% and damage received from enemy ranged units -40%.
Heroes: Virion, Gafgar, Denji,
This is suitable on your most important melee hero such as Virion when playing the human race, Gafgar when playing the dwarf race, Denji when paying the rakan race.
Notable Mentions: Bane, Rufio
This is also great on Bane to be tougher to kill when he uses his taunt ability or Rufio when he jumps in deep into the enemy ranks.
Notes:
- This is one of the strongest protective tiers to significantly increase the survivability of a hero.
- Should be used on important melee/tank heroes that have aura mastery skills that compliments the race you are playing.
E. Protective X
War Cry: Every 10 seconds the selected hero gets a shield equal to 25% of their max health and taunts nearby enemies for 5 seconds. Can trigger at most 6 times per battle.
Heroes: Solaris, Bane
This is suited to heroes like Solaris because of his hell’s pardon ability that makes him immortal for 15 seconds or Bane that has a similar taunt ability and defensive melee heroes with very high health.
Notes:
- Defensive melee heroes with very high health will benefit the most from the shield gained every 10 seconds.
- Defensive melee heroes with immortality skills or similar taunt abilities will also gain from the shield and survive longer when they taunt.
- Taunt makes surrounding enemies focus the hero for 5 seconds.
Stacking: this will stack with similar effects from hero skills, artifacts and gear.
