Activision recently posted on their official Call of Duty Twitter feed saying that the next Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 update has been pushed back to February 15th. It was supposed to be released on February 1st.
In addition to the Call of Duty season 2 delay, the official Call of Duty Twitter account teased what fans can expect from the new season once it's released.
Despite the late arrival, Activision has announced that it is finally bringing some highly anticipated game modes to Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2, which is good news for the Call of Duty community.
Although the launch is delayed, Warzone 2 Season 2 arrives with the long-awaited Revival/Resurgence Mode. The community has been eagerly waiting for this mode since its map was leaked a few weeks ago.
Thus, the legit declaration of this mode`s arrival, together with a brand new small map devoted to it. It will be warmly welcomed by the cross-platform community.
Call of Duty fans will likely be most interested in Warzone 2's new minimap, but Modern Warfare 2's base game content is also on the way. Season 2 will introduce ranked play, new multiplayer maps, new modes, new weapons, and "more."
Again, the post isn't concrete, but those details should be clarified in the coming weeks. This is actually the second year in a row that Activision has had to delay the second season of a new Call of Duty game due to scheduling issues.
Last year's Call of Duty: Vanguard Season 2 was delayed from February 2 to February 14 remarkably similar to this year's Modern Warfare 2 delay. So it's likely that Activision will announce something like this to improve multiplayer and battle royale games.
Season 2 for Warzone 2, MW2 and DMZ is delayed until February 15th.

Small changes were made to Season 1 to improve the Social tab in Modern Warfare 2's menus, but Season 2 will see even more improvements and bug fixes.
The last major update for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 returned in December with the launch of the first season of Reloaded. Midseason content included the Chimera assault rifle, the Shipment multiplayer map, and the first ever Call of Duty raid.
Season 2 was supposed to bring another raid episode to Modern Warfare 2, but much of the season is still in the speculation phase.
At the moment, we’re less than two weeks away from the official release date of Season 2. However, that release date is far from confirmed.
