Rise of kingdoms Beginners Guide
RoK is a real time strategy mobile game that features massive maps, unique nations and real time battles. In last few years rise of kingdoms became popular worldwide and players from all around the world enjoying this game for its user interface, gaming strategies, quests and they can make friends and join alliance in the RoK game.
So if you're a new player or a free to play(F2P) player and don't you don't know how to play this game or how to progress faster in The Rise of Kingdoms then don't worry in this RoK beginners guide, I'll explain everything which you need to know about the Rise of Kingdoms game.
RoK is a endless game with a lot of features, events, quests, many different types of commanders and much more. It's a time consuming and addictive game. To get everything maxed out in the RoK you'll need patience and time.
Rise of kingdoms is a pay to win (P2W) game and the number of spenders or whales are increasing rapidly in last 3 years. If you're a F2P player then don't worry, you'll enjoy and will have a lot fun in game too. So read this complete guide carefully and follow all these steps in game to become stronger.
Which nation/civilization is the best?
When you start a brand new account in the rise of kingdoms you have to pick a civilization or nation in the beginning. In game we have 13 different civilization or nations and these all civilization have some advantages and disadvantages. So it's very important to choose the right civilization or nation in the beginning.
Right now in RoK we have 13 civilizations or nations. They are Rome, Japan, Britain, China, Germany, France, Spain, Korea, Egypt, Vikings, Arabia, Ottoman and Byzantium. These all civilizations will give you different kind of buffs from the beginning.

So far China and Britain are the best nations or civilizations for the beginners in RoK. In China nation you'll get the 5% building speed bonus, 5% faster recovery rate of action points (AP) and also increases troop defense by 3%. In this civilization you'll get Sun-Tzu as a starting commander.
In Britain civilization or nation you'll get Boudica as starting commander and longbow man as special units. In this civilization you'll get 5% faster troop training, Increases archers attack by 5% and Increases ally garrison capacity to 20% buffs. You'll get the different commanders in all civilizations.
Upgrade your City Hall
You don't have to focus on the economic academy tree (Quarry, irrigation, handsaw, sickle etc..) in the beginning of the game because you can obtain them by scouting the villages. So don't focus on economic academy tree.
Only upgrade buildings needed for city hall upgrades. You don't have to upgrade every single building in the game. Just focus on your city hall and upgrade it as fast as you can. Many players upgrades all buildings and then upgrade the city hall. But you don't have to do that, always upgrade the necessary buildings and move to the city hall upgrade.
By upgrading the city hall you'll get more benefits. As you progress through the game, an upgraded city grants you access to a variety of other upgrades. Don't attack cities in the beginning because you'll lose more than you gain. Your troops will die and you'll gain enemies.
Spend your gems and reach to VIP lvl 6 as soon as possible because at VIP 6 you'll unlock the second building permanently. Upgrade your City hall to 22 because at CH22 you can dispatch 5 armies.
Upgrade Your Best Commanders
If you're a newbie then you'll have the same thoughts like Which commander is best for you? Or Which commander you should upgrade first? Or You should upgrade your all commanders equally? In the Rise of kingdoms we have 4 types of Commanders. They're Legendary, epic, elite and advanced Commanders.
Legendary commanders are hard to obtain for new players or f2p players and also it's not easy to upgrade the legendary commanders because it's very expensive. So if you're a free to play player or a low spender then i recommend you to upgrade your epic or elite commanders.
Upgrade your gathering commander to 3 stars then focus on upgrading only one commander at a time. All peace keeping commanders are worth investing. You will need them for quick finishing events, quick spending action points. They'll need the bottom part of the peace keeping talent tree to be maxed.
If you're thinking about commander pairing, you can use the commander pairing tool and then test out it in expedition mode. Send different pairs to attack the same stage and see which one yields the better results.
Dragon Lancer is a good secondary commander unit for picking up runes. Research/building runes needs to be activated before you upgrade. Commander level is important, not because it can lead extra troops or Unlock the skills, but more importantly it'll have more talent points.
Join a Strong Alliance
Find a good alliance, be loyal to your alliance and do your daily quests and other tasks. It's a very common mistake to stay in an alliance for the wrong reasons, so by that I mean if the alliance is not a great fit for your activity level or for the types of things you want to be doing.
You shouldn't feel bad about going to an alliance that better fits your interests and schedule. You start from the outer area of the map and you work with your alliance to gain control of the passes.
The main goal of the game is to be in the first alliance that gains the control of the lost temple in the centre of the map. The alliance that captures the temple first will recieve a bunch of rewards.
Alliance centre is the second most important unit after the city hall. The higher the level is, the more help you can recieve from your alliance, the faster you can build and research things. Also the academy gives research speed bonus.
Create a Farm/Mini account
Create one or more farming accounts because this a game of war and war is all about resources. At the beginning of the game focus on farming and get the most resources out of the tiles.
Upgrade your gathering commanders at decent level to activate their gathering talent and thus gave yourself much time in farming.
Focus on One or Two Troop types
Unless you're a Whale, you won't be able to focus on all three types of troops at the end of the game. The research after tier 4 is very expensive. I'm talking about tons of millions of resources and hundreds of days of research time is extremely expensive. Have a primary or secondary troop, forget about the third type.
